Amy is the founder of Access Quest New Zealand.
She has a Master of Museum and Heritage Practice from Victoria University of Wellington and has held a variety of roles across the GLAM sector.
Her accessibility journey started in 2019 when her family took a trip to Paris and the UK. Amy's family has a range of disabilities and were used to facing barriers; however, the museums in Paris took this to a new level. They faced multiple barriers in every room. Meanwhile, their experiences in the libraries and museums they visited while in the UK were overwhelmingly positive. They were offered accommodations that they had never even thought of before. Having experienced accessibility at both ends of the spectrum, Amy realised that she wanted to help other members of the Deaf and disabled communities back in New Zealand experience what her family had in the UK and dove into the field.
By combining her knowledge of the GLAM sector and her experience with accessibility - personal and professional - Amy dreams of helping New Zealand's GLAM sector become as accessible as possible.
