Access Quest NZ is here to help make the start of your accessibility journey as simple and straightforward as possible.
We provide two services: on-site auditing of your environments and policy development. Both services can be fully adapted to fit your organisations needs or the criteria of your funding.
In the future, we will also have training services available.
Audits assess how accessible an environment is based on best practice and legal requirements. They consider what the strengths and weaknesses of an environment are, so we know what areas to focus on to improve overall accessibility.
Our auditing service includes:
While audits assess your current accessibility, policy outlines how you are going to make your environment more accessible and the timeline you will be working on. A policy should help you stay accountable to your commitment to accessibility.
Our policy service includes:
At the moment, Access Quest NZ is developing a two-stage training program to promote disability awareness and accessibility thinking. Updates to come!
Below are some resources to help you start your accessibility journey. If you use these resources and like them, please let us know! We also welcome feedback.
Front of House Accessibility Checklist
This Accessibility Checklist was created so that members of the GLAM sector can discover how accessible their environments are. By noting our strengths and weaknesses, we will understand where our future efforts need to be focused when developing more accessible environments.
Front of House Accessibility Checklist - Companion Document
This document supports the AQNZ Front of House Accessibility Checklist. Its purpose is to tell users exactly what to look for when completing the checklist. You do not have to be an expert to use the checklist.
